REMOTE BIN MONITORING

Grain TRAC reads any temperature cable on the market and sends the temperature readings to a secure web page. Remotely read Boone, Tri States Grain, and OPI cables from any computer with internet access. Grain TRAC gives you the ability to monitor all your bins on a daily basis without driving, climbing, and keeping hand written notes. Grain TRAC removes the guess work out of grain storage.

How it works:

  • Temperature cables that are installed in the bin connect to the Grain TRAC sensor board.
  • Readings are taken twice daily to collect timely temperature data.
  • The data is sent to the Internet and viewed at www.wagnet.net (wireless ag network).
  • To view your data you must enter your secure user name and password. Your information will appear as shown.

Grain TRAC gives you the ability to read current and past readings, generate reports, and view easy to read graphs. Grain TRAC even includes user configurable alarms that identify the beginning of heat activity.

Grain TRAC will pay for itself by reducing risk and improving grain quality, while at the same time reducing labor and energy cost. With better management tools, you will be able to sell grain consistently closer to standard moisture.

MOISTURE CONTROL CALCULATOR

Grain is seldom sold at the standard moisture. When grain moisture content is greater than the standard, the grain weight is discounted to account for the extra water."
--Dr. Jim Beuerlein, Ohio State University

This we all understand, but we often lose sight of the fact that we lose money when our grain is too dry.

"If grain is dryer than the standard, the same equation can be used to calculate the increased weight that should be credited to the seller although the calculation is seldom made and the seller is not usually rewarded for low moisture content"
--Dr. Jim Beuerlein, Ohio State University

The Equation:
(100-actual moisture)/(100-standard moisture) *(100-actual moisture) calculates percent dry matter* A shrink factor of greater than 1.0 means a farmer lost money for not selling enough water.
